We are the people you call before you sign the lease
CulinaPro is a hospitality consulting firm working with restaurants, cafes, cloud kitchens and hotels across India — from the first idea to the fifth year.
Why we started
Three of us had spent our working lives inside kitchens and restaurant operations, and we kept watching the same thing happen. A founder with real talent and real money opens a restaurant. It looks right. The food is good. Eighteen months later it closes.
The reasons repeated themselves with depressing consistency. The lease was signed before anyone ran the numbers. The kitchen was designed around whatever space was left after the seating plan. The menu was written from a wishlist rather than a food cost target. Nobody wrote down how anything was done, so when the head chef left, the restaurant left with him.
None of those are food problems. They are business problems that happen to occur in a kitchen — and every one of them is preventable at the planning stage for a fraction of what it costs to fix later.
CulinaPro exists to be the voice in the room at the point where those decisions are still cheap.
How we work
We start with the numbers and the kitchen, in that order, before we have an opinion about the concept. Then we run every engagement through the same five stages — Discover, Design, Develop, Launch, Grow — because skipping one does not save time, it postpones the cost.
We work on site. The consultant who reviews your P&L is the one who has stood at your pass during a Saturday service. A diagnosis written from a spreadsheet in another city is worth what it costs to produce.
Everything we deliver is written down and handed over: costed recipes, SOPs, layouts, checklists, models. If you stop working with us, the system stays with you. That is deliberate. We are not trying to make ourselves permanent.
What we will tell you
If the numbers do not work, we will say so — including when that ends the engagement. We have advised founders not to sign leases and owners to close outlets that could not be saved. Both are bad for a month’s revenue and good for a reputation that has to last.
We take no commission from equipment vendors or suppliers. When we specify a combi oven, it is because the menu needs one.
Values, in plain language
- Numbers before opinions. Every finding carries a rupee figure where one can be calculated.
- On site, not on a slide. We watch service before we write anything.
- Hand the system over. Documentation is a deliverable, not a by-product.
- Say the hard thing once, early. Late honesty is just an invoice with an apology attached.
- No commissions, no kickbacks. Our advice is only worth something if it is not for sale.
Where we work
We are based in Gujarat and work across India — Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, Vadodara and beyond. Discovery starts remotely; the real work happens in your kitchen.
